We booked Sonic Jazz Project for a premium jazz event we held in Penzance, Cornwall July 2017. Everything about them was professional, there was great commerce from the start which incidentally we feel is very important, they were prompt to the venue worked well with our team and then there was the performance… Wow! They are great musicians and Sonia was a wonderful front person – her voice and anecdotes set the tone for what was a beautiful evening in the park.
We Are Soma’ (Gin After Dark, Penlee Park)
Sonic Jazz Project played to a packed and appreciative house at St Ives Jazz Club with two thoughtfully considered and slickly performed sets of songbird standards, mingled with the occasional more modern classic from the likes of Randy Crawford and even Sting. The band accompany Sonia with a suitably understated groove, giving this blossoming vocalist plenty of space, but impress when it’s called for with some fine solo and ensemble instrumental play – all very solid musicians, making this band an impressive and satisfying unit!
St Ives Jazz Club
We experienced the wonderful soothing jazz tones of Sonic Jazz Project at Penlee Park Open Air Theatre. Sonia and the team played in this unique setting and entertained us with an evening of Gin and Jazz. The highly skilled musicians, with their double bass, keys, flute and saxophone accompanied the amazing vocals to many a well-loved tune. We would highly recommend going along to one of their future gigs, or booking them for your own gig!

We’ve had Sonia and the boys play for us a few times now and each time is better than the last. They have a terrific range of songs, all expertly handled by Sonic Jazz Project. They have the audience up and joining in. They bring a wonderful ambiance to the place and are a welcome addition to any billing. If you are considering a live act, look no further than Sonic Jazz Project.
Royal Oak Inn, Lostwithiel
An absolute delight to deal with from beginning to end! For a couple who lacked a strong musical vocabulary, Sonia turned what could have been an arduous experience into a seamless one. After every phone call or meeting the first words out of our mouths were ‘I love Sonia.’
Sonic Jazz Project played evocatively in our Cornish National Trust barn setting, got our guests on their feet and provided an elegant, sophisticated and mesmerising backdrop to our wedding. The icing on the cake: Sonia’s voice is spellbinding.
Peter & Tamsin, bride and groom
Sonic Jazz Project were brilliant! They pitched it just right with some lovely old jazz, blues and easy listening standards – great combination of keyboard, double bass and Sonia’s smooth, warm vocals. Will definitely be booking them again!
Barleysheaf Inn, Gorran Haven
I am always a little jealous when I hear that Sonic Jazz Project are playing elsewhere, I’d like to be there to enjoy their music. We’ve had the pleasure of their faultless and magical sound for both large crowds (over 300 people) and intimate crowds as well; each time they have left the customers happy and wanting more, we can’t wait for their next performance here.
Stag Hunt Inn, Ponsanooth
Sonic Jazz Project was the perfect band for our party in the Boot Inn. Versatile and with a wide range of styles, the band soon had everyone on their feet. Would definitely book them again!

Sonic Jazz Project have performed at our Jazz Lunches for some time and have always been very popular. Their music is very mellow and easy to listen to, with Sonia’s velvet tones bringing a warmth and depth to the melody. This year, they played for us on New Year’s Eve and guests, as well as staff, really enjoyed their performance. Sonic Jazz Project are always here in plenty of time and are very reliable.
