Summer fun!

New tracks, festivals, regattas and frocks.

We’ve had a fantastic summer so far and so I thought it was time for Sonic Jazz Project HQ to publish an update – a newsflash if you will!

This month will see a new video (oooh), some new tracks (aaaah) and some new horizons for us all. We’ll be at Fowey Royal Regatta on 20th August at 2pm on the Town Quay Stage. We’re also really excited about performing at Rosie’s Kitchen later this month in Bude.

Looe fest is just around the corner and we are over the moon to be heading over that way as a quartet this year in the fabulous Zute Lounge which is such a classy backdrop for live jazz.

There will be photos to follow of the Looe fest line-up, so watch this space!

Details of all of our exciting events and live peformances can be viewed on our ‘Events’ page.

Enjoy the summer and be open to all it brings.

Crazy weekend ahead – quintet at the Driftwood Spars, St Agnes

We’re very excited about this weekend……

So it all started about a month ago when the phone rang off the hook! Suddenly, we had a wedding to go to (not ours, you understand) and we had a quintet gig to sort out at the fabulous Drifty (The Driftwood Spars in St Agnes).

So after a month of rehearsing and working hard on both of our sets, we are ready, so let’s be ‘aving you! Driftwood Spars and the bellissimo Hotel Tresanton, here comes Sonic Jazz Project ……more photos to follow 🙂

driftwood-spars Tresanton Hotel, St Mawes

We’ll be starting off at the Tresanton for a beautiful wedding day (let’s pray for sunshine), then we’ll be strutting our stuff at the Driftwood Spars from 10pm later that night for a quintet set (double bass, sax, percussion, vocals & piano).

Do pop in and say ‘hello’ and buy us a drink as we’ll be thirsty!

Line-up for the Driftwood Spars, by the way, is:

Sonia McLean – vocals

Tom Quirke – piano

Chris Jones – double bass

Terry Rodd – drums

Sarah Wearn McDonagh – saxophone
